Our History
Celebrating Nearly 40 Years of Faith and Fellowship
Founded in 1986, the Bergen County Malayalee Christian Fellowship (BCMC) was established by a group of visionary believers who recognized the need for a united Christian community among Malayalees in Northern New Jersey. At a time when few Malayalee Christian organizations existed in the area, BCMC became a place where families from different church traditions could gather for worship, fellowship, and mutual support.
Over the years, BCMC has grown into a vibrant ecumenical fellowship, bringing together members from Catholic, Orthodox, Mar Thoma, CSI, Pentecostal, Brethren, and Evangelical backgrounds. Through prayer meetings, family gatherings, cultural programs, youth activities, and community outreach initiatives, BCMC has strengthened both faith and friendships across generations.
Today, as we continue our journey, we remain committed to the vision of our founders: fostering Christian unity, preserving our rich Malayalee heritage, and creating a welcoming spiritual home for current and future generations. By God’s grace, BCMC continues to be a beacon of fellowship, service, and faith in Bergen County and beyond.
